Question / Help choppy playback and lag in game (file included)

Hi all,

i have recently started using OBS, watched some tutorials and used settings they recommended for twitch streaming (which i haven't started yet) and i was recording some gameplay just to see how it all looks with overlays etc. and it lags every now and then and is really choppy when i play back the recording, tried a few variations of dropping resolution, enabling the graphics card to do the encoding, dropping frame rates but there is no change whatsoever.

hopefully you guys and gals can see something from the attached log file that would cause it or any recommendations would be great!

not sure whether i should start another topic or not but as my log file is here already? i am using game capture and for overwatch it's perfect. however i tried to use it for fallout 4 and when i'm in game it works perfectly but as soon as i tab out it changes to a black screen? Both games are in full screen, it's just fallout that goes black when tabbing out, overwatch also is live when viewing through OBS however fallout seems to freeze screen when i tab out and then go black.

any ideas?

Don't tab out or don't use the games in fullscreen. Nothing you can do about OBS being unable to capture a game that has stopped rendering.

ok, so overwatch is obviously still rendering when i tab out however fallout 4 stops when i tab out. thanks for your help harold
