I am new to OBS and not a streamer but occasionally I stream so my friends can watch.
I just started using OBS. I get TERRIBLE choppiness and/or framerates when I am streaming. I used auto wizard and also tried using various other settings. It actually seems like my FPS stays at 60 but it feels more like 15.
My rig:
Ryzen 3900x
RTX 2080 Super
32Gb 3200 DDR4
Game and OS on SSD
Log file:
Not sure what this shows if anything.
It's very odd because my CPU usage was VERY low, and my RAM. I mean like 10-20% so my computer is definitely able to handle the streaming and playing. Not sure what is up.
The game I am playing is Dark Souls Remastered if that matters. It didn't seem to happen in the last game I streamed which was Subnautica so don't know if there is some issue with Dark Souls Remastered.
Thanks in advance.
Edit/Minor Update:
I just did a test and this happens when OBS is OPEN. I don't have to record or stream. Very strange???
Turns out I think this is a dual monitor issue. I've noticed similar if I have netflix or something on 2nd monitor. Not sure how to solve issue but I do not believe this is OBS fault. My guess is my second monitor is an old 60hz while my main is a 165hz. Probably need matching hz monitors?
