Changed camera settings, now camera not working anymore

Hi there, I did some changes to the video configuration of my webcam (via source properties > Configure Video for my webcam). The picture froze and since then I cannot get a picture anymore.

If I plug the camera out and in again and open the "Camera" App of Windows10, I get it to flash once (I cannot be sure since it flashes really briefly, but the picture seems to have retained the parameters). Then the LED of the Webcam remains ON and I cannot get it to flash any longer. As if the camera was trying to display something it cannot display and crash.

I tried uninstalling the device and plugging it in again. No change.

Were those settings globally changed and stored in Windows. Any chance I can reset them? Anything else I am missing?

Thanks

I just tried it on another computer. Same problem. So OBS changed the parameters of the webcam itself?

Since the other computer is way older and slower, I was able to capture it...

Are those "Configure Video" settings some kind of Firmware tweaking? As is, it looks like I bricked the Webcam...

Ok, I managed to solve it. For anyone having the same problem in the future:
  • I deactivated the camera in OBS
  • Plugged-out/in
  • Restarted OBS
  • Since the image is not displayed, the camera doesn't crash
  • Then quickly
    • Activate
    • Configure Video
    • Default
    • Apply
It took me a few tries to be fast enough, but it finally worked.
