I use OBS pretty much exclusively to capture flight simulation content. Most of it is either IL2 Sturmovik, or Digital Combat Simulator. I've been wanting to capture MSFS 2020 flights as well, and have been working on getting that set up... but have run into a snag. I do all my sim flying in VR, and I have an HP G2, which of course uses MS Mixed Reality as the portal.
Unfortunately, MSFS 2020 doesn't 'mirror' it's VR output like IL2 or DCS does - Mixed Reality mirrors what's being seen in the headset, but the refresh rate and visual quality in the MR mirror is so bad it's useless. So I've been trying to find other ways to do this, and came across a method where I can resize the MSFS 2020 window so that the "left eye" part of the dual VR screen is large enough to be captured by OBS at HD quality (for reference, the methodology for this is here: Full Quality HP Reverb G2 VR Mirror for MSFS).
The problem I have with this - the only issue, as everything else works - is that OBS captures the left eye section of the screen from the top (i.e., the red square):
The problem with this is when I record a flight, the recorded view in OBS is essentially looking upward at about a 30 degree angle, making the center of the captured video look up at the sky rather than horizontally over the instrument panel. The area I actually need to capture is the green square - basically centered in the view window / capture area.
All this explanation to ask the question - is it possible for me to "move" the area that OBS will record in a window like this? Like, drag OBS down, or set a specific area of a large window that it will capture?
I've tried to use the OpenVR Capture mod, but I'm still stuck just trying to cut the section of the screen that OBS is showing - I need to move the section OBS itself is showing down a few hundred pixels.
