Hi,
I want to capture a 1440x900 pixel region on my single 2560x1440 display. The output should be mp4 without any scaling - precisely matching the desired region. (I.e. each pixel of the final mp4 should match one pixel of my screen). I know the size of the region that needs to be captured, but the precise position (upper left corner) is arbitrary.
I feel stupid because even after reading a bunch of other answers and the documentation, I am not able to combine the following parameters into a useful setup:
1. I know that the output-resolution needs to be 1440x900
2. I know that I can drag the red frame with ALT to crop (However, since the OBS-preview-window is scaled down, I wasn't able to achieve a perfect match).
3. I know that I can manually edit the transform, but I can't wrap my head around the intended usage of this dialog. It would be great to clarify the labels for newbies like me (What "Position" source vs. target in which coordinates? source pixels vs. output pixels, etc.)
4. I know that I can add a Pad/Crop-Filter to the complete setup layout, but I couldn't get it to work as I intended.
The behavior/usage I expected would go something like this:
1. Setup the output resolution to 1440x900
2. Add a display capture
3. Right-Click > Transform > Match pixel resolution <- this feature doesn't exist
4. Use either Filter-> Pan or Transform -> Edit to adjust the upper left corner of the capture region until the preview shows no more black borders.
It would also be great to zoom the preview window (e.g. with mouse wheel) so you can grab the red frame even if it's cut off.
I would be happy for any help (ideally with a step by step guide where to click).
