Question / Help Capture Window not working

I guess my last post was too involved for response. I'll break it down into parts.
When I try to add a window capture, the dialogue box opens, but even when I select the desired, open Word document, all I see is the infinite loop of OBS UI. I accept and close the dialogue, but if I hide the source above it in that scene, I just get a black rectangle, no word document (failed Window capture). what am I doing wrong?

To capture the desktop version of Microsoft Office, you need to deactivate hardware acceleration in the settings of the corresponding Office application.
It's still somewhat incomplete, though. If you need to show menus as well, you have no choice but use display capture to grab it all.

Hi and thank you. My apologies for the delay in responding.
I have only had to think about hardware acceleration with regard to video editing software previously, and I don't know where in the settings for Word this would be. I have never come across it in Word settings. Can you help me out here, please?
