Question / Help Capture raw MJPEG

My capture card is configured for MJPEG and I would like to capture the raw stream without transcoding. When I choose "lossless" in simple mode, the resulting .avi file is encoded in UT. I switched to advanced mode and set the container to mkv and the codec to MJPEG with a bit rate of 500,000.

It works, but my CPU runs higher than I would expect for simply wrapping the raw MJPEG into the .mkv file. Is OBS transcoding MJPEG to ...MJPEG? If so, is it possible to capture the MJPEG stream directly?

You cannot use OBS to capture the mjpeg stream directly. It will always get the decoded video data, render and composite it as any other source, then encode it with the current encoding settings.
If you want to capture the mjpeg stream directly, you have to use a different tool.
