Capture Device Audio Duplication / Silence

Hi all,

I have a Razer Ripsaw capture device plugged into my computer, and I use that as a Video Capture Device source for OBS. It comes through as its own audio source as well as a video source. I have a running issue where every stream I must turn on / turn off Desktop Audio as a source to have the Ripsaw audio audible to viewers.

Stream 1:
  • Desktop Audio Muted at start
  • Mic/Aux unmuted at start
  • Ripsaw Unmuted at start
  • Viewers able to hear game correctly
Stream 2:
  • Desktop Audio Muted at start
  • Mic/Aux Unmuted at start
  • Ripsaw Unmuted at start
  • Viewers unable to hear the game at all. Fixed by unmuting Desktop Audio.
Stream 3:
  • Desktop Audio Unmuted at start
  • Mic/Aux Unmuted at start
  • Ripsaw Unmuted at start
  • Viewers hear double audio from the game, slightly offset. Fixed by muting Desktop audio.
This pattern continues ad nauseum. Any idea how to get consistency?

Hi Cyclemat,

Thanks for your help. I've made adjustments to running OBS as admin and to the samplerate on the microphone. The HP monitor displays in 60hz, but reports to windows as 59.997 (which displays as 59 in windows). I'll try canvas resolution of 1920x1080, but I didn't intend to broadcast in such a resolution.

Ripsaw is set to "Monitor and output".
Desktop is set to "Monitor off".

Hi Cyclemat,

Thanks for replying. When you say the 'base', are you talking about the canvas size for the scene? Or the resolution to stream in? Or something else entirely?

And may I ask why the size of the scene preview would relate to duplicate audio / no audio as indicated in the original post?
