Capture cards that "just work"? (Linux Mint)

Bought AVERMEDIA, but didn't work.
People said El Gato HD60x would work as it had "UVC" whatever that is... didn't work.
Need one that can do at least 1440p 60fps and literally just works (e.g plug in and play).

I seem to remember having to install a community driver, but that could have been for something else that I gave up on. It wasn't hard to find, anyway.
