Capture card

My capture card has hdmi input, hdmi output and USB 3.0 output. I've never used it yet but was wondering if the input signal from my DVD player will output a signal to both outputs or only one ? I just downloaded OBS Studio which input should I pick ?

Connect USB to the computer. Connect HDMI out to TV (optional). Select Video Capture device as input source in OBS. Choose the device in the dropdown list of capture devices.

DVD players may not be capturable by capture cards.

Most DVD players will not be, due to HDCP.

If you want to rip a DVD you own, it's a MUCH better idea to do it via an optical drive instead of playing it back and capturing it through a cap card, anyway.
