Just for clarification, it displays text via the closed-caption option on twitch/youtube when streaming. It doesn't add the captions to recordings.
This isn't drawn on the stream itself. It's up to the video player web widget to enable the option to display them for users.
Perhaps there was some confusion about how it works? I suppose I should have made a blog post about it or something.
