canvas and output aspect ratio issues with virtual cam?

Hey all I'm fairly new to this thanks for your help in advance.... Is there a way I can design OBS with a square aspect ratio vs the standard wide screen format?My issue is when I output my stream using virtual cam it is too wide? I have tried to modify settings but I have found I can only achieve this by assuming and tweaking my OBS preview and resizing images/sources prior as I don't have border limits during the design phase...what a mouthfull...

basically I want to make a blank canvas for square streaming output?

Hi,
Try: settings -> video -> Base / Output resolution -> and don't use the dropdown menu but type the resolution you want manually.
