A couple of us have been using OBS to record videos, and we came across an issue: during a recording, pressing "Stop Recording", changes the button to "Stopping Recording...", but unfortunately it never stops and the video is not created i.e. the recording is lost (affects windows and mac). We discovered that this happened after we had accidentally pressed "Start Streaming" instead of "Start Recording", where we get an error message because the streaming was not set up properly.
Upshot: it seems the error handling in the streaming feature is not handled properly and causes an issue if you subsequently start recording. Of course, one can avoid it by not pressing the wrong button, but I thought this might be easily fixed.
