Bug Report Can't Start Recording In OBS Studio

When I open OBS Studio and configure my settings it starts to record. However as of yesterday i've been getting this error message.

Failed to start recording
Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details.

NOTE: If you are using the NVENC or AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date.

PC Specs:
Intel Core i5-6600K 3.9ghz Processor MSI AERO NVIDIA GTX 1070 16GB 2,133 DDR4 RAM (G. SKILL) Micron 480GB SSD 2x Corsair case fans Seagate 2TB 7,200RPM HDD Windows 10 Home 64-Bit Cool Master Hyper Evo 212 Air Cooling System

Windows 10 Home Build 16288.1000

As a new member, you should solicit help first before reporting this as a bug.
Many of us use Nvidia GTX GPUs and don't run into this problem.

Do what it says and go update your Nvidia drivers:
https://www.geforce.com/drivers

Choose GeForce Experience and download. Run it to update.
Shut down your system and reboot. Then run OBS Studio.

Yes I meant to post this as "Question/Help" pretext but chose Bug Report by accident. I have already updated my drivers to latest version. The software was working before and i have NVIDIA GPU (gtx 1070) but now the software isn't working. However when I choose x264 insead of NVENC H.264 the video playback is stuttering and lags. That's the only way the program will record now though smh.

I tried using DDU Uninstaller and deleting my settings for obs after uninstall then reinstall GPU drivers as well as OBS Studio, but my issue persists.

Try this ...

Output Mode: Simple
In the recording section:

Recording Quality: High Quality Medium File Size
Recording Format: MKV
Encoder: Software (x264)

OK and then just to make sure, exit OBS Studio, reboot PC, launch OBS and record.

I tried this and i'm glad to report that it work! However the quality seems to take a hit a bit.

Your expectations are too high.

You need to realize that you are running on a slow i5. If you want high quality output, you got to spend the $$$ to get high quality equipment.

With all the servers and systems I have here, I compare your i5-6600 to be as powerful as a AMD FX-8350 I have. I know with that kind of CPU paired with a GTX 1060, doing 1080 @ 60fps was not very good. So crappy that I had to make a new build using much higher components.

You got a very good GTX 1070. You need to pair that GPU with a much stronger CPU like an i7-7700 or Ryzen 6 1600X or better.

My suggestion is, to shoot for 720p 1280x720 @ 60fps and go from there until you upgrade your system.

So set your video base resolution to be 1920x1080 and output resolution to be 1280x720 with Lanczos at 60FPS and use x264.

You don't understand. I never had an issue with OBS before until now. I didn't even get an update recently in the past week with the application it just stopped working. I have not even to the slightest idea what's causing this problem. I had settings configured before with NVENC H.264 1080p 60fps and my recording were smooth and great quality. p.s. I have an i5-6600K.

Also, with my current build setup i can play games in 4K at 60fps. But i understand your point in the fact that upgrading cpu to i7-7700 or even better i7-7700K would be best.
