Hello,
Here is my setup, and the problem I am having.
I use a focusrite scarlet mic running through a focusrite 2i2 audio interface, I run this through the Voicemeeter software to turn it into a mono signal so my voice is coming out both sides of the speakers.
To hear my game I'm using a headset.
My partner and I communicate while recording using Skype. (if a different program might fix my problem please let me know!)
In OBS I have it set up as follows
Source:
Game Capture --> Specific Window --> whatever game we are playing.exe
Audio Input --> Voicemeeter
Then I have a gate on my self in OBS as well as the "Desktop Audio" channel in OBS as it picks up white noise from my partner. The game audio also is tied to Desktop Audio which I dont understand? Because what happens is that anytime the game is slightly silent then the sound cuts until the game or my partner is loud enough, I have the gate set as low as it can go while still blocking the annoying white noise.
What Id like is a way to have OBS capture JUST the game sound in one source and JUST my friend in the other source so I can put a gate on just my buddy and not have it gating my buddy and the game. And still have the game and his audio come through my Headphones. How though?
My mind is completely fried with college and work and I feel like I'm just missing something super simple.
