I'm having a strange issue where I can't rename scenes or objects....if I'm able to rename a object...all the objects in the group are (automatically) named the same thing?
any help is appreciated as I'm learning my way around Obs. Thanks

Having the exactly the same problem. Rename one scene and the one below changes to the same name and so forth. Extremely frustrating. Did you find a solution?

Hi guys! Im new to this app and had the same issue. I tried by looking into the preferences folder and checked if all files had permission to be read & written. These settings look to be okay.

Then i tried something else. On my MacBook pro giving return, it does allow the edit to be saved. But if you use CMD + Return, so its an enter then mimicking a Numpad enter i believe, then it does save.

See below first try was a return, the second one using CMD + Return... WORKS :)

PS fn + Return also works. So seems the return is bug, doesn't register it but does register the enter key. Where do we post bugs, i cant seem to find a section for that?

Command Enter works. But...just...why. The duplication solution is not a solution, it's a workaround.

The only thing I do is right click the current scene name & then choose "Duplicate" & when it asks for a name then type a new name. Delete the Original Scene. Good to go.
For some reason this is the only thing that works for me. After I duplicated one scene then it's back to normal so I can easily name anything now. It was very frustrating not being able to name things they would just get numbered. I would have to remember them, so it wasn't easy! Thanks so much!,,,,,,,update. I closed out of OBS and reopened it and it went back to not being able to name anything. I've had it happen that it would control chrome while in OBS to. Any ideas? OS Ventura/OBS 29.1. but has been happening in older versions of OBS too. Update #2, As mentioned I'm on a Mac, so my current fix is to quit OBS via the Activity Monitor, so when I restarted it OBS worked. It's worth mentioning that when I quit OBS normally it didn't fix the issue. Maybe activity monitor fully closes it for a fresh restart or something?
