Question / Help Can't record game! black screen

Hi there

Around a month ago I found that obs couldn't record cortex command anymore. I've tried different versions installing and uninstalling both programs but to no sucsses. I used to be able to record it on monitor capture in full screen but its always just black now.

Any help would be great, i'll post my logs aswell

OBS in the past has never been able to monitor capture full screen games/apps. try windowed mode for your program or maybe sometimes game capture works even for non-games.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried window and game capture but I still get a black screen on preview mode of the game (which is clearly visable on my other screen)

try removing the monitor capture and the window capture then adding just a game capture.

Nope, it's the same one, could it be that the game doesn't allow capture or a device/componant issue?

then make one please.with the recommended changes and record for a few minutes then stop and post a link to that logfile.like I showed above.

Thanks. in the game capture properties, there should be a anticheat compatibility hook. try that. if that doesn't work, uncheck anticheat and instead try multiGPU hook. one of those should work.

sad. game capture will not work for that game then. the game running in a window will need either window or monitor capture. I do not know what "changed" to prevent this where it used to work. was there an update to the game?

Monitor capture did used to work but for whatever reason cannot capture the game. Most probably, is there some sort of anti recording overlay that can be added?

run the game in a windowed or window no border mode and window and monitor cap should work.

Fit to Screen. If you can't see red rectangle in preview canvas window when alt-tabbing, then use right-click on 'Game Capture' source, and go to Transform>Fit to screen

you could attempt to run OBS as admin by right clicking. I would then suggest to remake the game capture with the game up on the primary screen. While it is up, change the settings until it shows. I am also assuming that your right monitor is the primary?
