Hi everyone, I'm trying to connect a Canon t3i to OBS but it doesn't recognize the camera. I'm using a HDMI cable with video capture card. Don't know what else to do. Any help? Thank you

My go to recommendation is to get all Audio and Video sources working outside of OBS (ie OBS not started/running)
Use a native OS tool to confirm video actually be transmitted to computer. And make sure permissions allow OBS access to that video feed

Have you tried installing the canon webcam utility program?
i use a 1330d (T6) and have to go through open the utility first, then once the camera is operated i close the program without accessing the camera and obs reads the incoming signal

By default OBS locks some sources (ie start OBS), and it will 'grab' some Sources (Audio and Video) preventing other applications from making changes.... that sometimes interferes with other applications expectations... I'm intentionally avoiding passing on any judgement on which program is at 'fault' for the conflict... just something to be aware of, and adjust accordingly.
then again, I know the above to be true on Windows... not sure on MacOS

Regardless, the Canon webcam util would be if using a USB connection, which Original Poster is not, and for highest resolution capture, the HDMI route is much better (also per the Canon FAQ for the webcam software)... hence my recommendation to FIRST make sure that Capture Card is working (trying using Canon image via Capture Card in a webcam type application or OS native tool capable of displaying a webcam image). Don't go to having video feed in OBS, until working at OS level first
