Question / Help Can't lower my x264 preset on a 4790k

So I'm trying to record some gameplay of the WWII Beta using my HD60 and using anything below "Veryfast" says "encoding overloaded" yet its only at about 10-20% CPU usage. Any reason why this might happen?
Specs:
i7 4790k
16GB DDR3 1600MHz ram
GTX 960 4GB

And the reason I want to go lower than "veryfast" is because no matter what I try to do I find that OBS recording my HD60 is quite blurry compared to the Elgato Software and want to see if a lower preset will make it sharper. At this point I just don't know what to do. It just doesn't look even close to what the elgato software can do.
