Can't get microphone and desktop audio to record simultaneously.

I've spent over 1000$ on microphones thinking there was something wrong with them but they weren't the problem. At first, I couldn't get my microphones to record while I was recording my desktop audio. I factory reset my PC today, and now I can get my microphone to work but not the desktop audio. I've finally lost my patience and I have no clue what to do after days of following tutorials and reading forum posts; I've tried changing settings in my audio control panel, audio settings in obs, advanced audio settings in obs. Nothing seems to work before or after my reset.

Are you using multi-track audio?
If you are, do you have one track where both the mic and desktop are selected? (Not having this is a common problem.)
Audio tracks work like different language options on a DVD. If you have your desktop set to one, and your mic set to another, you'll only be able to play back one or the other, not both at the same time.

How I have my setup (simplified):
-Mic on track 1 and 2.
-Desktop on track 1 and 3.

If I want to hear my mic only, I switch to track 2. If I want only the desktop, I switch to track 3. If I want to hear both, I use track 1.
If your media playback application doesn't support selecting audio tracks, download VLC from videolan.org and use that; you can right-click the video during playback and choose the audio track from the Audio context menu entry.

I don't know if this presents a problem, but mine is set up to where I have 1 track on desktop audio and 1 track on microphone audio separately. When I plugged my headset into my yeti I could get them both to play at the same time and still show up in the editing software on multiple tracks. So I fixed it, the problem is it's my shitty headset and I want it to work with my new Jabra. So it shouldn't be an audio track issue because it worked on one headset and not the other.
