Cant get camcorder to record my old videos

I got it to work the first time, but now it won't. I set everything up per the instructions...using an old camcorder, but all i see is a black screen when I try to record. I can't understand what I did to make it not work now...any ideas out there?

Sorry, without a LOT more info, not sure where even to start... other than the beginning
My standard recommendation is to troubleshoot audio and video connections outside of OBS. keep it simple
Is the video capture working at the Operating System (OS) level? make sure that is correct, only then move onto OBS
and then if you still have trouble, follow the forum pinned post regarding support requests

OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored. To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log...
