So i'm posting this to try to get some advice or help
What i'm trying to do:
Play games at 3440x1440 120 (or 100) hz, and stream at 60hz
What i'm using:
Main rig:
1080ti
8700k
Acer 34p 3440x1440 120hz
Encoding rig:
Elgato 4k60 pro
GT 1030
Ryzen 1800x
Option A: Clone the monitors
Issue A1: You can't clone the 120hz display to the capture card because it only supports 100hz. Running 100hz introduces some stutter due to the odd timings. Whereas 120 is just 2x60 so should be much smoother. But as mentioned, you can't clone a 120hz and 60hz display together without limiting both to 60hz
Issue A2: Tearing. Even when both display and capture card are cloned and set to 60hz, I still get a slow, but obvious tear running through the display. You can see it clearly in this clip when i'm on the stairs when I start moving my view left and right: https://clips.twitch.tv/SaltyDeafCarrotMVGame
This also occurs when both are set to 100hz.
Option B: Use OBS + Project the game capture
Issue B1: OBS game capture stutters/lags when GPU is under load.
This method works, but then as soon as the gpu is under any kind of load, the obs preview and game capture start to look stuttery and not smooth. And therefore the stream does too.
I have tried closing all other processes, setting OBS priority to realtime, and also setting all in-game settings to minimum, but yet the obs game capture still stutters: https://clips.twitch.tv/PluckyIcyWeaselNomNom (near the end when I look at the water tower)
Does anyone know how to fix any of these issues?
I've spent a ton of money on a streaming setup and not being able to get it working properly is so incredibly frustrating :(
