I want to use obs because it has so many great features but one thing that I need is a smooth 60fps as if I was using shadow play for instance. Like yea its recording at 60 fps but its really jerky in a way. I have looked everywhere and not one person has answered it so I am making my own thread.

Specifications:
i7 4790k
gtx 970
24gb RAM
120gb ssd
1tb 7200rpm hdd
(Let me know if I forgot anything)

OBS Studio Settings:

I too can't get NVENC and QVS to get a smooth 60fps recording and never could since it's implementation back in the original OBS. Shadowplay and Mirillis give me butter smooth 60fps. Shadowplay (or share in newest beta) is extremely good and cost like nothing in performance.

OBS is pretty good in that department too but lacks the smoothness. It's even noticeable in 30fps, if you're sensitive like me to stuttering you will see it. Using ICQ and CQP like you and nothing helped really. This problems dates so far way back that i completely abandoned OBS and hope that share gets some more options to fiddle around with.

For streaming though OBS is the way to go, for recording you're better of another software.

EDIT:

I don't know what excactly what i did made it smooth but it looks it is. Weird. Going to test some more and see if it holds up!

Shadowplay can caprue frame directly from the buffer of the graphic card.
That's mutch more performant thank hooking into dx or ogl processes.

sadly shadowplay is doing max. 50 Mbit@HD 160Mbit@4K has vfr (useless if you use adobe premiere) and audio is only one track that is 160kbit/s aac

if obs could handle to use the shadowplay method to capture the game this would be heaven.
sadly nvidia locked this and uses this exclusive for shadowplay.
