Question / Help Can't figure this out. 1280x720 canvas does not match up with any other 720p media's dimensions

Hi guys, so I've set the base (canvas) resolution to 1280x720. The output resolution is also 1280x720.

I also set my windowed game to run at 1280x720.

But when I add a Window Capture, the 720p game is not big enough to fill the screen. I have to adjust the game size to about 1297x760 just to get it to fit on the 1280x720 OBS canvas. I don't want to do that because it doesn't record properly.

I am not willing to hold shift and stretch the image out because that results in way too much quality loss.

If you want to know which game I'm playing, it's Old School Runescape and I'm using OSBuddy to play it. I have OSBuddy set to not display any title bar or menu bars so it's just the game displayed.

I also use the Sizer tool for Windows to set window sizes.

I took a screenshot of OSBuddy and copied it to GIMP. Then I made a 1280x720 white layer. The layer I made was actually 16 pixels *wider* than OSBuddy's window.

Why can't 1280x720 be the same everywhere?

I have OSBuddy to maintain aspect ratio but I don't know what that is. I mean if I set it to 1280x720 then the ratio should be 16:9 right?

What am I doing wrong? Please help me.
