Question / Help Can't encode with Slow or Medium preset 1920x threadripper

I've been spending about three days troubleshooting. I just completed a streaming build with the 12 core 1920x and it can only encode at the fast preset at 1080p 60fps. My IMAC can handle this preset so it is a bit disappointing. When using the slow or medium presets I see CPU usage spiking to 100% when making fast turns in game. This is a dedicated streaming pc using the el gato hd 60 pro capture card. I've ran cpu benchmarks and my cpu scores as expected. I've done research before purchasing this processor and many people achieve the slow preset with ease. I've attached the log file. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated

- Have you tried running OBS as administrator?
- Have you the latest Elgato Software installed?

A friend of mine and myself experienced a similar issue with our streaming PCs. Long story short: recently installed windows update (between the 10th and 15th of december) were is cause. Maybe you have installed them too? Try uninstalling them. If it does not fix the issue don't forget to reinstall the updates.
