Can't download the update

I'm trying to download the the version update. When I click on the download I get a window that says " waiting for OBS to exit". That's where everything stops. It won't go any further. Am I missing a step?

Make sure OBS is closed, check task manager as maybe a plugin is preventing it from completely exiting.
