Question / Help Can't choose AMD VCE, only x264. Win 10 N

Hi guys.

I can only choose x264 as my encoder in OBS MP.
But from other threads I gathered there should be also a possibility to use my GPU.

Has it something to do with win-mf.dll?
The problem is I have the windows 10 N edition without the MS Multimedia stuff.
Installing the Feature Pack should fix that. Did not help.

Maybe something else?
I use the latest AMD Crimson drivers.

did you reinstall the amd drivers again after some of those updates?

Ah, got it.
To things. First i needed another windows media pack. Something changed November 2015, at that time After Effects also showed an error during startup. So i just found this: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/3099229

After Effects could now start without error, OBS still only had x264. So I reinstalled the AMD driver and voila: it worked.

Windows update likes putting bad drivers in for devices.

Easily fixed by DDU. First time you run it, it disables automatic driver updates for your graphics card.
