Can't change the tab size in Visual Studio when editing obs code

This is not an obs issue per se but, at least for me, it only happens when I open OBS in Visual Studio 2019. For some reason I can't change the tab size of the editor. Here is a picture showing the "problem"

I was wondering if anyone has a "solution" for this or if this is something that only happens with me.

If anyone is remotely interested in this, I just found out that the .editorconfig file overrides the visual studio configuration so the tab size is locked. Very clever I must say.
