Question / Help cant capture game audio! using two pc set up

hello there guys, been working on my 2 pc set up using a elgato capture card HD. I can get up the footage using elgato as playback. i cant hear the audio on my stream but everything else works. so I tried using Virtual Audio cable and managed to get up audio working fine for everything but then my elgato card would turn into a black screen so i dont know what else to do! driving me nuts.
I have used virtual audio cable on my gaming pc as i am meant too right?
Using OBS

all i want to do is!
Gaming Pc

1) listen to the game on my headset (I can get this to work fine but the streaming pc doesnt pick up the game audio)
2) talk to people on skype with my headset

Streaming PC

1) i want it to capture my mic on my snowball (thats attached to the streaming pc which is working)
2) want it to capture my game sounds on the stream (major issue at the moment)
3) want elgato to work(it only stopped working when I used virtual audio cable - the screen went black or "stop responding"

Hardware
1) gaming pc hdmi going into "imput in" 2) Hdmi/displayport going from the "hdmi Out" to gaming monitor
3) USB cable coming from capture card into streaming pc

triton headset for gaming pc
snowball mic for streaming pc
