Question / Help Cannot record when newer versions of Premiere are loaded

I've asked Adobe about this, and they take their usual attitude that if it's not something related to professional equipment, they ignore it completely. Basically anything that mentions OBS is completely ignored.

Since Adobe Premiere 2017 11.0.2, I can't record anything in OBS when Premiere is running.

Here's the thread on the Adobe forums: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2343046

Premiere is using too much of your video card to be able to use nvenc.

I thought NVEnc was done in a separate chip or something like that. Not all that tied into the video rendering that normally goes on. That on top of my doubts that Premiere uses all that much GPU time.

04:04:56.023: error: OpenEncodeSessionEx failed: out of memory (10)
04:04:56.052: fatal: No NVENC capable devices found
04:04:56.052: [NVENC encoder: 'recording_h264'] Failed to open NVENC codec: Generic error in an external library

Can you record other things via NVEnc?

I would check and make sure your Nvidia drivers are up to date and not corrupted. Going as far as doing a clean uninstall / reinstall, then try again. Also try other ways of capturing it... Game, Window, Monitor Capture, whatever you haven't tried.

Are you trying to make a recording of you making a video in Premiere?
