So i have been using obs on my old computer for a while now and never had any problems. Recently I just upgraded to a new computer, but i have found an issue im having with obs. When i go to record my games, i get the sound coming from my mic, but not from the game. I have tried changing the "desktop audio device" to default, to the speakers labeled as my headset, and the one that matches my windows audio device that audio is being played from (which is from my headphones, but still doesnt capture) Doesnt capture game audio, doesnt capture youtube video audio, nothing. Only my voice.

Edit: here is my log https://gist.github.com/3221efd9074d17e37632395397bca853

Sound coming from the mic makes no sense. A mic is a recording device.

Lets assume you have a headset with a mic on it. What you do is right click the volume icon in the tray next to system clock and choose Playback devices. In the playback tab, Set default the playback device to be your headset with mic. That gets all output to your headphone.

For recording choose the Recording tab.. Set default device to the headset microphone. Disable everything else, like the webcam and other stuff so they don't pick up any audio (avoids echo).

Your game audio will be piped into the Desktop Audio. The OBS mixer can be used to control the volume level and mute.

Yes, i do mean headset, ive a bad habit of calling the whole thing a mic. Unfortunately, that fix didnt work. my headphones were set as the default and i dont have another mic or webcam or anything. I can hear the audio coming into my headset, it picks up on the mixer, it just isnt making it into the final recording for some reason.

Is the audio level showing for the Desktop Audio on the mixer? The Desktop Audio channel should be not muted and the slider moved to the right.

Click on the wheel next to "Mixer" to bring up Advanced Audio Properties.
Is it set to this?

If there is nothing coming through:
- Update motherboard audio drivers. Go to your motherboard or computer vendor and install the drivers.
- Choose appropriate device in Windows Sound Playback/Recording Tabs

yes all my settings are like that, and yes i have already updated my audio drivers.

As i was making a video to show all my settings and the issue, i tried turning all the tracks options back on and boom it was fixed. I had set it to track 2 only and for some reason it wasnt recording.
