Cannot capture screens from monitors connected to second GPU

Hello All. I am using 26.1.1 64 bit on a Win10Pro workstation with two 1070s (GTX 1070 FTW2 and FTW). They are connected with the SLI connector but with SLI disabled to allow the use of all 6 monitors.

This rig is not use for streaming games, rather producing a podcast and all of the materials that go along with it. Graphics, sound, compositing, editing, etc. On to my issue.

When I try and set one of the 2 screens that are on the second card as the source of a display capture they are not listed. However, I am able to capture applications that are on them as well as being able to set the full-screen multiview to go to either of them. The two that are not working are a Hisense 50" TV and a Gaemon 15" graphics tablet.

I am hoping that this is just an oversight on my side as I am fairly new to this software. Any insight will be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

OBS can only capture monitors connected to the GPU it is currently running on (on the back-end, not which monitor it's sitting on, on the desktop).
This is the same issue that causes "blackscreen problems" on laptops.
Unfortunately, this does not have a workaround. You will need to constrain images you plan to capture to the three monitors connected to the appropriate GPU.

The workaround that I have at the moment is to use the Window Capture instead of screen capture. For my purposes this will work as I do not plan on changing the applications that are in use on the screens...

The 6th screen is strictly for the multiview, so it does not really matter, but the 5th is the graphics tablet that will be used for live drawing while I am teaching.

You can try to use NDI tools to locally capture the RoI( Region of Interest) , which would be the tablet and then set this up as an NDI source in OBS.

Is there some limitation that prevents you from using something like EpocCam for your graphics tablet? Using a wired connection, I have found this works well enough. Then you can dedicate your 2nd GPU to comfort screens/production control, which if you think about it is better to have segregated live if you can anyway.

Cheers!
