Bug Report Cannot Capture any Google Chrome 55 windows anymore

After updating to Google Chrome 55, OBS can no longer capture it. When I revert back to 53, OBS works again.

Disable hardware acceleration in Chrome.

This is quite unnecessary. Before version 55, hardware acceleration is also enabled, but OBS was able to capture Chrome windows, but now in 55, it cannot. To disable hardware acceleration slows down Google Street View performance and videos. I am pretty sure, Chrome 55 changed something that broke Windows Capture in OBS.

They actually broke it in chrome 50.

It is a chrome issue. It is also broken for Xsplit,GameShow,Infiniscene,and Wirecast.

I was afraid the issue is on Chrome's side. I need to reinstall 54 and stop the update. I can't seem to do that.

I believe it has been an issue since chrome 50. Just have to disable hardware accel.

I reverted back to 53 and it works fine again. Just disabled auto update. Disabling HW acceleration will slow down the web browsing performance by a lot, especially for Canvas stuff. Does anyone have a Google Chrome 54 installer file?

For me, OBS stopped working on Chrome 55. The best way is to download an older version of Chrome and prevent the browser from upgrade by renaming the GoogleUpdate.exe file, until OBS fix this issue. Google sure as heck won't do a thing for OBS users.

It's not really something that OBS can fix due to changes chrome-side.

I rather now slow down my browser of an already slowing down Chrome.
