Processor - Intel i7 6700k
Graphics Card - GTX 1080
RAM - 16GB
Down - 60
Up - 5

I seem to have a real problem with artifacts in my stream. I've adjusted the settings quite a lot and have had some success but not quite what I would like. I know my hardware is not the problem so my question is can you stream 1080 with 5 up?

Since its recommended not using more than 3500 Bitrate, yes. 1080p30 simply isnt that great for a couple of games.

Alpinlol thats outdated information, the new twitch guidelines say 3-6mbps now. As always that doesnt mean its buffer free...

CLEAN 1080p isnt that easy to get with streaming bitrates, the more motion in the game the worse it is.
5000kbps is still pretty low for 1080p for fast games, even 6000kbps is low.

Got Updates 4 days ago and still says
  • Recommended bitrate for 1080p: 3000-3500
  • Recommended bitrate for 720p: 1800-2500
  • Recommended bitrate for 480p: 900-1200
  • Recommended bitrate for 360p: 600-800
  • Recommended bitrate for 240p: Up to 500
when you click on the OBS Guideline.

Video Requirements
  • Encoding Profile: Main (preferred) or Baseline
  • Mode: Strict CBR
  • Keyframe Interval: 2 seconds
  • Framerates: 25/30 or 50/60 frames per second
  • Recommended bitrate range - 3-6 megabits per second
might be aimed at Partners

Then again their routing is still one of the worst ever and even people with a stable connectio to any other streaming platform at over 3500 Bitrate reply with horrible buffer issues or even dropped frames.

The "max of 80% of your upload throughput" is a good guideline to stick to, though. Otherwise you may run in to problems because of your stream hogging all your bandwidth.
