Question / Help Can You Save 'Sessions'

Hello there,

I'm quite new to OBS but learning quick and loving it - very clever
One thing - can you save 'Sessions'. As in for each broadcast I do, I may want to save it - as the next one may be completely different, yet may want to come back to other ones before. It just saves essentially changing scenes around a lot

Hope this makes sense!

Many Thanks and hope you're all keeping safe and well

Not sure what you mean by a "session".

OBS has "scene collections" which are.. a collection of scenes.

OBS has "profiles" which are collections of settings for audio, video, and streaming/recording output-- things that are part of your OBS setup, but not part of a scene collection.

HI there!

Best way to explain - say I worked for 3 jobs.

1) Programme A
2) Programme B
3) Programme C

And every programme had it's own unique set up but was always the same. Is there a way to say save 'Programme A, B, C' as separate 'files' so all the correct scenes load up without having to change each time

Hope that makes sense!

Ah great - so it is possible!
Sorry to sound stupid but can you give me a walk-through for idiots on how I set this up. So i've just down a broadcast - I like how all my set up is. What's the Microsoft Word version of doing Save As!

Many Thanks

Gavin

You don't save them as separate files, like in Word. You create a new blank Scene Collection from the Scene Collections menu and give it a name, and then you can switch to it at any time.

Great - thanks so much. I will give this a go. Can you switch mid-broadcast? Or is it designed for having different projects with different set ups.

You can switch mid-broadcast, but the screen will flash black while all your sources load. It's generally not recommended.

What you are talking about is Scene Collections. It's a menu item.
What he means is how can you have a separate collections and settings for a PORN project and a separate settings and scene collections for the sunday mass broadcast? Just like all other programs there is a menu for "SAVE Project As.."
