Question / Help Can not hear videos on OBS

I am trying to add short video clips to my OBS lineup (under sources). I see them, the meter says it hears them, but no sound comes through my headphones or speakers. I read a few "answers" here but none have worked. Advise? I'm on windows ten, desktop.

Thanks, I'm not tech savy.
I have audio monitoring set to my soundboard. Correct?
How about the tick there for "Disable Windows audio ducking?" Right now that is selected.
I have heard not to use MP4 as you say. I have FLV selected. Is that good?

The default setting in OBS is for audio to only go out to the stream to change this you need to go to advanced audio property.

If you click the gear icon in the mixer while your video is playing and choose advanced audio properties you will see a window that has audio monitoring you can select where you want your audio to go from there

Check what device you are using for monitoring in OBS in Settings > Audio.

Note: Should not be the same as the device you are capturing!
