PC specs:
(HP pre-built)
AMD athlon ii x4 635
4gb ram
nvidia g210 (BEST GPU ON THE MARKET, I know)

I have my main pc (epic custom built PC, BTW) and i recently fixed an old HP machine and im wondering if i can record my pc with it. I have an elgato game capture (lying around of course) and ive run a few tests but its really choppy.

4000 bitrate (probs too high)
1280x720
30fps
x.264
cpu usage: fast
bilinear

could you use that pc to record? yes. should you? probably not. You will get much better quality recording with your main pc, and probably lose barely any fps in game. I don't really know what you are asking, since you said you already tested it.

You will definitely want to change your cpu preset to much faster, but I'm not entirely sure how high of quality you would be able to get even after messing around getting all the settings as good as you could get. Probably not worth it.
