Question / Help Can My Mac Even Stream OBS 1440x900@60?

Hello,

I am experiencing significant lag and frame rate reductions when live streaming to YouTube with a few different scenes on my 2015 MacBook Pro. Here are the specs.

2.7 GHz Core i5 (5257U)
16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB

Is what I want to do (live stream 1440x900 60) even possible with these kinds of specs? I'd like to know that before I look into my settings much farther because I'm getting about 10-15 fps...

Here are my Internet speeds per speedtest.net
Ping: 29ms
Download: 61mbps
Upload: 5mbps

Any other information I need to include please let me know. I'm brand new at this. Just trying to get it all set up before severe weather season so I can do live broadcasts. Oh, and is there any way to stream to two places at once, say Facebook and YouTube?

Thanks a ton,
Josh

Everything can do everything. You have to specify “at medium preset” etc. it can probably do it at “faster”

So as it states, higher presets require less CPU, slower processors should be set at ultrafast and superfast, whereas more powerful computers can process the slower settings?

yes, its confusing, but "faster" is for "slower" CPUs and vice versa, so if you have a slow CPU, youll need one of the faster presets.

For that resolution definitely try ultrafast or superfast. 1080p60 at Medium is something fairly powerful desktops with discrete GPUs can struggle with, depending on the content. Trying to go higher than that with Intel graphics... is probably not happening.
