Can I somehow record replays but just the game footage?

Hello everyone!

Not sure where to post this, so any mods that want to look into this can freely move this to another area of the site. One of the new updates I saw in OBS is that you can record separately the game footage from the overlays. What I am trying to do is set up to where I have a replay system where its only capturing the game footage, and not the whole overlay. Is this possible? Or is there a way to make it work? Let me know!

For more context:

I am a fighting game player, and would love to have a box that shows up of the last 30 seconds of my match on screen (not full screen) while I am still on my main overlay scene.
