Can i play game sound and chat through tv without my mic recording it?

Hello all.

I should Firstly mention i use a tv with my pc and i have it playing out loud as i dont have headphones.

When i record videos on my own i use obs with just display capture and my mic i have no issues.

When i use discord in the background for party chat they have the worst echo known to man! Of course my mic is picking them up but is their a way to prevent this... this is preventing me being able to make videos with my friends as its just so terrible to listen too..

Maybe you could try using a software such as voice changers and crank up the dbs where it won't hear the background but will hear you and your friends. Then you could mute your tv in the audio mixer in obs by turning off the desktop audio setting.
