Can having multiple versions or even copies of OBS cause OBS conflicts?

Hi.
When I install or reinstall OBS I always choose to keep both. I do this so that if the newer version has issues then I can keep the older ones. And it appears that I may have a few copies of the same version. Crazy I know, but it doesn't seem to be a problem. When the copy or the new version installs it keeps everything I did in the other ones. Plugins, scenes etc.I am in the process of troubleshooting my external Hd that everything resides on for other issues and wonder if this is a problem. Keeping 5 versions of OBS at the same time. I do back up scenes and stuff, so do I need to uninstall past ones or is it ok?

Thanks in advance,

I am going to answer my own question and say no that multiple OBS's will not give you any computer issues! LOL. My external hd that has everything I do on it was and still is booting very slowly. Plus, it was crawling with freeze ups and stuff. I was and am still in troubleshooting mode to speed up the boot process, but after doing everything I can think of and learned about what might slow up your Mac external drive I have opened the most recent version of OBS and it is very stable. I need to mention though that I actually had to force quit OBS through activity monitor once or twice and now it it is super stable!!! Yippee!!! Haven't seen that in a long time!

I am purposely adding whatever I could to test it and it is great! I know my Mac is old by todays standards, but it is an i7 Monterey with ram to the max and a 2tb. hd that is only using 1 of those 2tb's, so I thought why the spinning balls and freezings? After everything is loaded now and it's fast like it was at the beginning. Among the things I did was clear all the preferences, caches and deleted duplicates for the whole hd, fully uninstalled a few apps too. Keep in mind if you do things like this when you boot up it will look like a new computer. You might think that you lost what was in the docks for example, but all you need to do is to restart your apps and keep them in the dock where ever you want them in the dock. I am very happy now! I really got used to OBS quitting all the time and needing to restart it thinking that it wasn't possible to fix it without erasing my hd and starting over or even partitioning my hd just to use OBS. Hope this helps somebody else that might be in the same boat.

Furthermore (LOL), I was having problems with OBS crashing while multitasking. I googled the error message and discovered that it could be in conflict with other software that is open at the same time. I closed out on some of them and it now doesn't crash. Really. happy with that discovery.
