Hi, I'm fairly new to OBS, on Windows 10. I have a microphone attached to my computer's mic port, being used as as my audio source for my streaming broadcast. I would also like to use that same audio source to record the audio in a different program. When I tried this the first time, I opened OBS, made sure the audio source was added correctly and registering input in the mixer, and then opened the second program. When I went to select the audio source in that program, all the options were grayed out.
Interestingly, after restarting Windows, I first opened that second program first, and now was able to select the audio source, but then when I opened OBS, there was no input registering on the mixer for that same source.
And then on a separate occasion, it appeared to work correctly, both programs were receving audio input simultaenously.
I will mess around with this more maybe it was just an odd set of circumstances, but just wanted to make sure that there is no inherent reason either due to Windows 10 or OBS why I shouldn't be able to use the same audio source to process input in OBS and a different program simultaneously in a reliable fashion.
Thanks for any input.
