Question / Help Can a linux dedicated streaming rig work with a win10 pc over lan?

Before I build it, I'd like to make sure it's possible to use linux and obs to stream the input from a win10 pc's obs over lan (udp i guess?). I'm not buying a capture card, I'd use windows otherwise, but I need a linux distro anyway for grep to sift through recovered raw files. If it is possible, distro recommendations would be great,

edit: I'm assuming this is the best way to take the broadcast encoding load off of my gaming rig..
