Hello, I have been using OBS for the past 3 years, starting with Classic and about a year ago moved to Studio. I have never had an issue with OBS nor my webcam. I was broadcasting yesterday and my scene was perfect, however I needed to do a quick restart on my computer. After the restart my scene still shows properly, but the webcam is missing. After extensive testing it seems like OBS Studio is having trouble initializing the webcam - when I start the program, my webcam lights up for a split second, then goes out. I am using the Logitech C920.
I have tried everything other posts on this issue have suggested, from changing the resolution on my webcam to custom and changing back, un/reinstalling obs, un/reinstalling webcam drivers, changing the USB port my webcam is connected to, and switching to a new scene/scene collection (I even backed up and deleted my old scene collection to start with OBS as 'naked' as possible). Nothing seems to do the trick. And the weirdest part is that seemingly nothing triggered this event. It was there -> restart computer -> it was gone. There wasn't even a windows update that could possibly conflict. There must be a simple solution somewhere.
In addition, the webcam works perfectly fine with other applications. I've tested it in OBS Classic, Skype, and Xsplit. As I mentioned, I've now downloaded Xsplit, but would truly like to keep using OBS Studio as I have found it to be superior in user interface and community. Not only that, but I would rather not go through the multiple hour long process of rebuilding my scenes and transitions.
Is there anybody else who is experiencing this issue? Is there a workaround? I honestly need to get this back up and running as soon as possible.
