Camera mic works but no sound on video.

For the most part it's worked fine. I've made videos with sound and the most that could be said was that the loudness needed to be adjusted, which wasn't a technical issue. Recently I fiddled with the settings and the sound has started dropping completely, even when I make a new scene. At first it worked when I created a new scene but now it doesn't work even then. I would try to check the sound by putting the output through my earphones but even though it sounded fine in my earphones, the recording itself would have no sound.

The settings I chose did work at first, and I experienced no problems before, so I don't know if there was anything I did that caused it to act up. Currently it has 2 sound filters, limiter and compression, and I'm using only video capture since I'm using a camera with a built in microphone. I had changed the attack, threshold, and the output gain, but nothing else that I can remember. It has a color corrector filter, too, but that filter works fine and I had used it before and it created no issues.

I'm not very experienced with sound so you might have to bare with my less than basic knowledge. Also sorry if I respond slowly, I tend to do other things and forget.

have you tried to simply put everything back like it was? I only ask because you stated that you have audio filters installed currently and that it had worked previously.

My guess is that your original audio fidelity issues are caused by the mic itself, not any settings in OBS that need to be tweaked or adjusted. you are using a mic that is built into the camera, unless you are right on top of the camera or it is a really really good camera, i suspect that is why you have "loudness" issues.

I did try that, yes. I created a new scene, as I said, to try an unedited version to see if it was just the filters. The first time I tried this it worked without the filters, but the next time I created a scene to try it out even with no filters the video capture didn't work. As I said, the sound worked fine through my earphones when I turned on the output from the advanced settings.
