Question / Help Camera doesnt seem to be seen by OBS

Hi, I will admit I'm not even sure I'm asking the right questions but I am trying to use OBS to broadcast our church services. I do not have a technical person available to me and Im not a techy guy. I was told to use OBS software and a Sony Vixia HF R80 camera I am using the USB port but when I try and obtain my source, never do I see my camera show up as a source.
Any help would be appreciated

Most cameras only support a USB connection to download the video files. You might need a HDMI capture card to capture the actual output. I couldn't find the info online to know for sure. If the camera does claim DirectShow compatibility, you may need to use the 32 bit OBS as the manufacturer might not supply 64 bit drivers.
