It's not a bug, and not everyone has the ram needed to maintain large slideshows.

Your better alternative is developing/setting up a browser based slideshow instead.

We have live talks with photographers and habens very easy often that we get just 10 Minutes before we start to stream a Zip folder with the photos. One scene is during a 1 hour to 2 hours talk in the greenscreen the slideshow and mix with just a click than a view minutes the photos.
For me its a absolute bug because flexability is gone. It would be better to let the user decide.
Where i can download a older version without such restrictions. As appetizer for the stream recently i set music together with a wlideshow of 100 pictures and was surprised the stream did make just 4 or 5 pictures. At least was no apptizer... It was the kick the people peave the stream.

You can use the widely known Irfanview image viewer as fast html slideshow generator. From the Thumbnails function (the window you get if you press the T key), choose File->Save selected thumbnails as HTML... and set the options to create a slideshow instead of a thumbnail view for html browsing.
If the visuals of the created slideshow doesn't please you, you can edit the slideshow source template file in the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\IrfanView\Html\
The created html file can be used with the OBS browser source as local file.

I would not like to install Irvan view or something with generated thumbnails if developers have no idea to fix this bug i search an older version where is not this bug include. To which version i should downgrade?

For generating a slideshow, Irfanview does not generate any thumbnails. It just creates one slideshow.html for the images you select for that slideshow. Cannot be easier.
I'm sure there are many more apps that are able to create a html-based slideshow like this, so you have plenty of choice.
