Browser freezing but audio continues

using 25.0.8 on Mac. Cant get browser source to run. Have tried
1. stopping hardware acceleration
2. adding ? autoplay = 1 to CSS
Any ideas please?

how can we stop hardware acceleration on a mac ? where is that option?
