Question / Help BMIE getting green screen

Has anybody been able to get the black magic intensity extreme to work? I currently get a green screen with red pixels. I've made sure to set my device to 720p to match the program.

Currently on 10.8.6 for mac OS and using 9.7.7 for BMD desktop video software for the BMIE and about to update to mavericks to see if that does anything.

I have the same problem with the Blackmagic Decklink Mini Recorder. I haven't been able to get the capture to work and generally end up with green screen. I'm running Mavericks. I can post up other details when I get home.

I'm interested to see if anyone has managed to get a Blackmagic capture card working with Mac OBS.

Cheers.

Minirecorder? Isn't that an internal device? I have a lbackmagic minirecorder in my windows machine. Unfortunately I may not be able to test internal devices until I can acquire a desktop mac. Most of us who are developing for the mac version are using macbooks.

I doubt updating to mavericks will fix the issue -- device support is really limited at the moment.

Sorry should have used the full name. It's the Black Magic Intensity Extreme. It uses thunderbolt. I've used it on the PC side. I'll be testing it with the latest driver and mavericks tomorrow.

Do you guys have a screenshot? Is it totally green or are the colors just messed up?

Can you guys include a log file of this issue? Keep in mind that device support will still be somewhat limited for a while.

Here is what it looks like. Screen Shot 2014-07-27 at 4.28.33 PM.png Can I upload a logfile at anytime? I copied the current one if that will do anything for you. https://gist.github.com/59dd15ab04ced3337746

Jim if you have a Mac with Thunderbolt it would probably be cheaper if you got a Thunderbolt to PCI-E express box. Instead of buying a Mac Pro. I currently use one with my Macbook Pro. Thats how I am able to use 3 Black Magic Intensity Pro's with my setup.

I was having the same green/black screen issue so decided to dig into the code. I'm making some progress with this, and have it hacked together to show 540p from a blackmagic intensity shuttle: http://screencast.com/t/QVgLqqSmD

I'll see if I can figure out what more needs to be done to support at least 720p capture :).

I also just got a BMIE using latest retina macbook pro over thunderbolt and only get black screen @ 720p setting, I downloaded the trial version of wire cast and it will work @ 1080p 30fps and also at 720p 60fps, I only really need 720p though for my uses.
I feel if we could somehow get 1080p resolution/refresh activated we could get the output to work in OBS as the BMIE driver is very picky about what it sees for input / output resolution to make it work. For example to get BMIE to work in Wire cast you have to set it to the same resolution and refresh as input signal(1080p) and then let software downscale it if needing 720p
I am not a dev so I don't know what is really causing the issue, I tried setting the input to 720p and seeing if it shows up and it does output in wire cast still but not OBS sadly.

Any updates would be appreciated, don't really want to spend $500 for software on a hobby I enjoy (Oh but I will don't tempt me lol) also attached a log if it helps. TY!

I currently use a BMIS, you don't want to add whatever you use as a video capture device; you need to get an application called Black Syphon. Once you install it, select your device in Potential Inputs and choose the Input Options. You now should see what is being captured. Now in OBS MP, add a syphon source and select Black Syphon.

I have black syphon and have tried playing with the options in there and was able to see the capture in Black Syphon but not OBS.
Although I did add video capture instead of trying to add a Syphon source > black syphon though, I assume I only set the input options as I am not using BMIE for output? I also assume I need to leave black syphon open while capturing?
TY for the help ill give it a try and post back, sounds like it should work!

I was just going through all your guides, thanks for putting all the work into it. TY for help

Also do you know if that default bug was fixed in the 10.2.5 Desktop Video release yesterday from BM?

I got the video to capture now using Black Syphon the only issue now is the HDMI audio isn't coming through to OBS yet it still works in WireCast.
I have black magic audio source added and selected in prefs but no sound is coming to stream, any ideas? If HDMI audio just isn't supported yet I could use the RCA cables instead
