Greetings friends,
I'm looking to perhaps finally shed some light on this ongoing problem for me for a number of months now with my microphone and OBS studio, I keep getting this reoccurring problem with my microphone skipping a fraction of a second regularly, I have provided an example in a Twitch clip below. I've asked around everywhere and no one seems to have shed any light on it, so here I am asking. Also listed below are things I've tried to fix it with:
Example: https://clips.twitch.tv/MoistAthleticOwlMingLee [Around 15s to go in the clip]
Things I've tried already:
- Tried turning up the Process Priority to High
- Reduced the number of devices on my USB ports to free up resources.
- Tried with my webcam and without (same result, Logitech C920).
- Made sure everything was set to the same Hz in terms of audio settings across Windows and OBS.
- Tried recording in Audacity (the problem doesn't appear).
- Restarted my PC and reinstalled Windows and the Microphone previously.
- Reduced the volume to make sure it wasn't a side effect of potential peaking.
- Changed my USB settings in the power plan not to fall asleep while in use.
- Tried a different USB port.
I've probably tried a few more things, it's been going on for months and I'm just wanting to fix it now, any support or suggestions would be super helpful, thank you!
Included is a log of my most recent test recording where I observed the behaviour 3 times within thirty seconds.
